Chandra Kishore Mishra, IAS (Retd.)

C.K. Mishra is a distinguished former Indian Administrative Service officer (1983 batch) who retired in 2020 after an illustrious career spanning nearly four decades. He served as Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, where he led India’s negotiations at global forums including the UNFCCC COP and the Montreal Protocol, and spearheaded national efforts on climate change, pollution control, and forest conservation. Earlier, as Secretary in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, he directed one of the world’s largest public health programs, the National Health Mission, and was instrumental in launching Mission Indradhanush, which significantly expanded child immunization. His leadership also shaped India’s National Health Policy, Mental Health Policy, and several landmark national health initiatives.

Mr. Mishra has held senior roles across health, education, industry, power, and defence, and is globally recognized for his contributions to public health and climate policy. Post-retirement, he advises leading multinationals, international organizations, and serves on the boards of ITC Limited, Shriram General Insurance, IPE Global, and others, bringing unmatched expertise in governance, sustainability, and strategy.
