Danda V Prasad, IAS (Retd.)
D.V. Prasad is a distinguished Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Karnataka cadre with extensive leadership experience in governance, administration, and public policy. As Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), he was responsible for overseeing one of the world’s largest food supply chain operations. His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was particularly significant, as the FCI managed the distribution of millions of tonnes of foodgrains, ensuring food security for over a billion people amid nationwide disruptions.
In addition to his tenure at FCI, he has held senior positions including Additional Chief Secretary in the Government of Karnataka and Chairman of the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), where he advanced infrastructure for national food storage and distribution.
