Suresh Kumar is a governance and public policy professional with over four decades of distinguished service in Indian public administration. He has held senior leadership positions in the Government of Punjab, including Additional Chief Secretary, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Principal Secretary for Power and Irrigation. In these capacities, he drove major reforms in agriculture, drinking water, sanitation, energy, and education, shaping policies that advanced rural development and strengthened public services at scale.
His expertise extends to international platforms as well. As an International Policy Fellow at the University of Cambridge, he contributed to the TIGR2ESS project on agricultural sustainability in Punjab. Earlier in his career, he coordinated national education initiatives with UNDP, UNICEF, and UNESCO, underscoring his commitment to institution building and social development.
Educated at the London School of Economics and Delhi University, he combines academic rigor with practical governance experience. With deep knowledge across agriculture, food systems, water resources, and sustainability, he serves as a trusted advisor to organizations navigating India’s policy and regulatory landscape.
